After high school, I joined the United States Navy and was stationed in Morocco, Iceland and Cuba. As a Vietnam-era Veteran, I attended college and graduate school on the GI Bill and then went to Vanderbilt Law School. After graduation, I passed the bar exam and was admitted to the practice of law in New York. In my 25 years as a lawyer, I have represented hundreds of clients, appeared in federal, state and local courts, and written many legal documents.
Those years and my military experience have taught me not only the complexities of the law, but equally important, discipline, patience, tact, courage, firmness, compassion, humility and common sense.
My husband introduced me to Ulster County and the Town of Rochester in 1988 and I fell in love with the area. We have made this beautiful community our home for over 25 years. When our son Ryan married Jennifer Schoonmaker, he brought us into a family that has farmed this area for 13 generations.
Now three granddaughters later, the Democratic Party approached me to run for Town Justice for the Town of Rochester and I eagerly accepted their invitation. I wish to serve our Town in return for all it has given me and my family – home, friends, and community.
